Trick or Treat!

This year the boys decide to be a ninja, a giraffe, and a scarecrow.

(Ok, really I decided that Pequeño would be a scarecrow again because the costume still fit him from last year and I thought that it'd be a waste to spend money on a new one when he doesn't care yet.)

We walked around the development for about an hour before the kids decided that they wanted to come back inside. Little Bear told me that he wanted to go home because it was cold and they were going to have to earn their candy back anyways. (He's right. They can (and did) have a few pieces of candy tonight but the rest gets put away and they can earn it back as treats throughout the year. There was still candy left in each of their bags when we pulled them down from last year!)

Pumpkin Patch with the Minis

Pudge and Pequeño's playgroup went to the pumpkin patch this morning and had a blast. The kids got to go on a hayride, watch a movie about how pumpkins grow (although they were more interested in exploring the building that it was playing in), pick their own pumpkin, and play.

The Kids' Halloween Dance Party

Little Bear has been so excited about Halloween this year and wanted to have a costume party. Since we've been having a lot of dance parties lately, he wanted it to be one of those as well. So we decided to have one for him and his neighborhood friends in our garage and driveway. We spent the morning getting ready by making decorations, getting food and drinks together, and decorating the garage.
Daddy spray painted a canvas to look like a castle entrance to hang on the garage door.
"jack-o-lantern" oranges

Oreos (we rolled some in orange sprinkles)

Daddy hung a black light in the garage and we spray painted cardboard with glow in the dark spray paint.

Once it got dark, the kids came racing over and the party started. We gave each kid some glow in the dark bracelets since it was dark outside (fun for them and made it easy to keep track of the kids)

Pudge showing off his glow in the dark bracelet
They had an awesome time dancing with the lights and were hilarious while showing off their "moves" and requesting songs. Some of their favorite songs were "What does the fox say", " What makes you beautiful", and "Monster Mash".

Little Bear's Morning

Today was the day that Little Bear had to have his fillings done. Since they needed to do it in the morning, we scheduled it for while the younger two were at their preschool/ playschool. We had about forty minutes after dropping them off before we needed to be at the dentist's office so we decided to fork the fish hatchery which was on the same road. We bought a bag of fish food and Little Bear had so much fun feeding them and watching them jump up for the pellets. This was his first time being able to feed them (He's been there before but we didn't buy the food then) and he was asking to do it again before we even left the parking lot.
We got to the dentist's office a few minutes before he had to go back for his appointment and he was pretty nervous. He tried hiding and didn't want to talk to anyone so we decided to have a little fun while we waited. I have him my phone and told him that he could take some pictures.
Then we took a few pictures of him pretending to be in the jungle because they have neat wallpaper there.
The doctor came out right after this and Papa took him back since they only wanted one parent. He came out a little while later and was upset but he did really well. He still needs to have his two front teeth pulled so we made that appointment but we're hoping that they will fall out before then.

Poor Little Bear

Little Bear is having a rough few days.

He recently found out that he is going to need to have two teeth sealed and may have to have two of his baby teeth pulled (his two front teeth!) if they don't come out on their own. One of the teeth is already a little wiggly so we made him a deal that we will pay him (and the tooth fairy too) if he is able to wiggle those two teeth out on his own. So, he's been trying to wiggle them out whenever he remembers.

Then, he started complaining that his leg was itching. We thought that maybe it was an allergy rash and showed the doctor who said to keep an eye on it because it was warm to the touch. Today (4 days later), it was suddenly swollen, spreading, itchy, and still warm to the touch. So the doctor brought him right in and he was sent home with all sorts of meds and an appointment in two days.

This is what his leg look like:

Party Lights!

After a really busy night, I opened the door to see this:
So, I sent the older kids into the house first and heard them start yelling excitedly. When Pequeño and I walked in, this is what we saw:
Daddy decided that our dance parties needed better lights so he brought this home. I think that the kids approve!
