Geronimo Stilton at the library

Our library had a special Geronimo Stilton party which the kids couldn't wait to attend! We have been reading the book series (and listening to the audiobooks) for six years now and the Stilton gang is still a huge favotite. There are so many different branches off of the original series that we still have a ton to read.

While we were at the event, the kids were given cheese themed snacks, a Geronimo themed maze, attempted to make mouse origami, and played a game where they knocked over a cup pyramid.

Then Geronimo came! Pequeño asked him if he could hold him and Geronimo quickly picked him up and cuddled him. He was so excited and couldn't believe that he got to hug Geronimo!

Pudge was really excited but quietly told me "It's a costume but it looks just like the real Geronimo."  (Each time I see this picture, I can't believe how tall and mature he looks already!)

The kids each picked out their library books afterwards and made sure to find one of the Stilton series that we haven't read yet and one that we have read a few times already. They each also picked a few other books to last them until next week's library day.

As soon as we got home, Pudge and Little Bear went to look through their books. Pudge had picked a few animal encyclopedias for kids and was doing "research" with multiple books at a time on our library couch.

How they've grown...

Birthday at the zoo

I woke up on my 30th birthday to breakfast in bed from the kids. Little Bear had made me a plate with toast, cherries, and baby carrots and the kids all sang to me. It was really sweet.

The kids and I spent the morning cleaning the house and pulling weeds so we decided to go to the zoo after lunch. It was a beautiful day and we made sure to bring water and snacks in an insulated cooler bag in the car. Since we didn't bring a stroller (I was wearing Cuatro), we went to the car about half way through and had a snack break and took a little rest from the heat before going back to see the rest of the animals and double back to see a few of the favorites before they closed for the day.

Since Papa was working today, he had surprised me over the weekend with a delicious family dinner and tres leche cake.

Watermelon

We've been having a lot of watermelon lately and the kids couldn't be happier! Cuatro won't let you touch his slice once he gets his hands on it'

I'm not sure what this silly face was about but he eats it right to the white and has to have it peeled from his grips.
