Sick

The older kids all ended up getting sick (they were given a "Norovirus" diagnosis) and have been having a rough few days. Pudge seems to be having the worst of it and was the first to start and the last one to still be sick. He also was given a zofran prescription because he has lost weight since his very recent appointment and hasn't been keeping much down.

Little Bear returned to school today after missing 3 days (in a 4 day week) while Pequeño missed an entire week (4 days for preschool) as did Pudge (4 days due to the shortened week). We are grateful that a neighbor was able to bring their homework and missed classwork home on Thursday so that they can spend this weekend working on it and not get behind. Unfortunately, Little Bear returned on a day that a test was given on things that he had missed all week so he is not expecting the results to be great.

Cuatro has not gotten it (we're praising breastfeeding and trying to keep him separate as much as possible (not very possible..)) however he has been affected since we needed to change his ultrasound date. Luckily, they had another cancellation so it was only a few weeks difference vs. months.

Hopefully, the kids will all get and remain healthy soon and this will be our last big illness for a LONG time.

Easter Weekend

The older kids had a long weekend for Easter ("Spring Break") from Friday-Monday while Pequeño's break started on Thursday. Wednesday evening, Pequeño went for a sleepover at Abuelo and Abuela's house then Thursday evening, Pudge joined him. On Friday evening, the rest of the kids and I drove up to visit Pop-Pop and Mema, and bring the kids home. (Little Bear had his sleepover the weekend before.)  We ended up staying later than we had planned because they were all having so much fun that no one wanted to leave even though they knew that we would be back in a few days!

Saturday, Pudge had a soccer game in the morning.

Once we came home, the kids played outside with friends while I went to the farmer's market and Papa mowed the lawn. We spent the day cleaning the yard and house.

In the evening, we dyed eggs and made Easter themed cheesecake to bring to Abuela's. At the farmer's market, I had bought duck eggs so the kids each got to dye one duck egg along with their chicken eggs.

Then we had a barbecue with cheeseburgers, corn on the cob, and sweet potatoes.

That night, we had a bonfire. The kids got a bunch of glow sticks and balloons that lit up to play with while they danced to music. Before bed, they did a glow in the dark egg hunt in the yard.

Sunday morning, they woke up early and wanted to find their baskets immediately. They each got something that was a big hit (Who was books, Wild Kratts dolls x2, Ice Cream shaped teether) and a lot of things that will be great for playing outside (kites, chalk, bubbles).

We went to Abuelo and Abuela's in the morning. They had another egg hunt (with sport trading card, toy, and candy prizes), visited with Mema and Pop Pop, spent time with Abuelo and Abuela, and had lasagna for lunch.

In the afternoon, we went to Grandma's where they had an egg hunt (with candy and toy prizes) around the yard, visited with Grandma, had a ham dinner, and played outside (even in the pouring rain). Aunt N, Uncle B, and cousin D took part in the egg hunt but left soon after because cousin D was sick.

Monday, the kids spent most of the day playing with neighbors in our yard and coloring the driveway with some of their Easter chalk. In the evening, the older two both had soccer practice.
