Morning with Pudge

Pudge had a late morning dentist appointment so after we dropped the other boys at their schools, we headed to a park to play for a little over an hour. Before we left, he made friends with a little girl who had just gotten there and they stuck together until we had to leave.
At his appointment, he did a great job and had no cavities. Since we still had about half an hour before we could pick up Pequeño, he chose to go to the walking park to see the ducks.

Little Bear's 3rd grade Field Day

It was a windy and chilly day but Little Bear and his classmates had a great time at their 3rd grade field day. I was only able to go for part of it due to preschool pickup so there are only a few pictures.

Playing "Capture the Chicken". There is a rubber one inside the circle of colorful cones. Each team has to try to steal the other teams' chicken and run it back to their cone circle. To stop the other team from getting their chicken, the kids can tag the opposite team and send them to "jail" (another area with orange cones). If a player is in jail, a teammate can get them out by going into the jail, holding their hand, and walking them back to the starting line. While walking back to the starting line from jail, neither the helper or the one who was in jail are able to be tagged.
Guarding the chicken
Egg on spoon relay
Bouncing ball relay
After I left, his group played a game where they tried to know down the other teams bowling pins with rubber balls, and then each of the classes played tug-o-war against each of the other classes.

A Trip to Houston, TX

Papa and I took a long weekend trip to Houston, TX to look at homes and developments in the neighboring suburbs. (While we were away, the kids stayed with Abuelo & Abuela and had so much fun that they weren't ready to leave when I went to pick them up!)
We flew out of Philadelphia to Houston without a stop which was great and uneventful.
I brought my carrots and a book for the flight.

We stayed at Hilton-Americas which was beautiful and since we were on the executive floor it included breakfast and evening appetizers and drinks.
The first evening that we were there, we went to dinner at Andalucia Tapas ( which was really good), to a concert at The House Of Blues (PJ Morton),
and then room service which included a Texas shaped waffle.
We woke up early the next morning and went to the gym which had everything that we could want. And spent the next day getting our rental car
and looking at house after house, after house... We narrowed things down to the location that we will be looking at and saw the type of homes that we want. The realtor is going to also look at lots I upcoming master-planned developments which seem like a good fit for us and then we'd look into building our own home.
We were starving when we got back to the hotel so we walked to eat at Guadalajara and then went bowling at Lucky Strikes.

The next morning, I went to the gym before breakfast
and then we rented b-cycles to ride around the downtown and to Buffalo Bayou Park for a few hours.
went for a swim at the hotel, and then we met up with Tio Z and Titi Ct who live about half an hour from where we were staying. We went to eat at an amazing place where I had a beet and bean burger and Papa had a deer burger and an elk hotdog.
Afterwards, we went to a few restaurants around downtown Houston.

The next morning we requested a late checkout so we slept in, went for a bike ride for a few hours , (can you tell which one was Papa's?)
Did a quick strength workout, Papa went for a swim, and we packed and checked out of the hotel.
There was a moment or two that we were worried that our luggage wouldn't fit in the rental car.... How many people does it take...
(It actually ended up being really easy and slid right in once they flip the luggage to over.)

On our way to the airport, we stopped for lunch at Churrasco's which ended up being a buffet and of course we stopped at Cavenders to check out the boots.

Then we headed home. The flight back had a quite a bit more turbulence and a medical emergency (we don't know what happened but there was a request for any medical personnel to come to the front and an ambulance waiting for the plane at the airport) so it was a lot less relaxing.
