Hockey Game

Papa took Little Bear and Pudge to a local hockey game last night (Pequeño didn’t want to go). He surprised them with the tickets when he came home from work so they quickly got ready and headed off to the ice rink. They had a great time and we’re excited that the LV Phantoms won 5-2 against the WB Penguins (which is the team from where we grew up).

Tired kids:

Pequeño and Mama had a special night since he decided not to go to the game. He got to stay up an hour later and watched Elena of Avalor and had a snack in Mama & Papa’s bed.

Morning cuteness

I love living here. This morning, I walked into the kitchen to find the kids all standing by the door watching the animals in the trees. In the spring we plan to add more bird feeders and bird houses (that the kids made) around the property.

Bowling Birthday Party

The boys making birthday cards.
The kids were all invited to a friend’s bowling birthday party. The older three all went but Cuatro stayed home with Papa since he is teething (read: super whiny) and it was also during nap.

Pudge was really excited to win his game

Smoothie Kids

The boys are back on their smoothie kick and usually help make one every day. One of the favorites right now is Spinach, Spring Mix, Red Bell Pepper, Strawberry, Blueberry, and Raspberry.

Game Preserve Hike

We decided to go for a family hike at the local game preserve this morning. Since Little Bear had soccer in the evening, we were only able to hike for a few hours but we had a blast. It was chilly to start but we all bundled in layers and once we were moving we were fine. Along the way, we saw a woodpecker, squirrels, ice chunks (and saw one break away from the side into the creek which was neat), deer poop (always a favorite find for the kids) and a lot of birds.

(It had been raining and warmer on the day before so there were a lot of icy spots and puddles)

(Somewhere in this picture is the woodpecker that we could hear as we walked up the hill and then saw as it flew to another tree)

(Cuatro napped for a few hours but enjoyed looking around while he was awake)

(The kids loved looking for icicles)
