The moms group that we belong to went to a local fire station tonight. Since it was scheduled close to the little ones bedtime, we decided to only take Little Bear.
He had a blast! The firemen showed let the kids check out all of the equipment, vehicles, and try on the clothes.
They also did a demonstration where they put on the uniform and equipment and showed the kids how their oxygen tanks worked which was really neat.
Then they got to go into their mobile unit and the firefighters explained a few things to them there about fire safety and did a question and answer segment. Then they got to go into a smaller area that was set up like a room and they taught them what to do if there was ever a fire when they were sleeping. They filled the room with fog and the kids all got a chance to climb out the window which I think was Little Bear's favorite part.
