December!

It's December! That means that it's time to start getting ready for the Christmas holiday around here. One of our favorite traditions is the Advent calendar. We've had a wooden advent calendar for a few years and the elves bring the kids a treat each night. Sometimes there is enough of the item for them each to get their own and other times it's something that they need to share. The kids get so excited each morning and run downstairs to see what the elves have brought for them.
Papa and I decided to also start an Advent wreath. The wreath is from us and is filled with ornaments. It has boxed that the kids get to open each day and then put that day's ornament on the little tree.
This is their little pre-lit tree that we have in our kitchen for them to put their ornaments on.

They've been really excited about everything so far. We're taking turns with all of the Advent things (one person opens the wooden box and gives out what's inside, one person opens the ornaments and puts it on the tree, and one person gets to turn the tree on and off for the day) and switching daily. Little Bear is really good at keeping track of whose turn it is to do everything which is a good thing because Pudge tries to do it all and has to be reminded to take turns.
