Driving to Florida

We left around 3am to beat traffic in Philadelphia and Washington D.C. as we passed through. The kids went right back to sleep after being put in the car which made the beginning of the trip a breeze. Our first big stop was at South of the Border in South Carolina.

We drove for a few more hours making a couple bathroom breaks and then ended in Jacksonville Beach for the night.
As soon as we checked in, we walked out to the beach.

Cuatro didn’t want to go in the water but had a blast digging in the sand.

We had a one bedroom with two queen beds and a living room with a queen pull out sofa and a crib. We let the kids pick where they wanted to sleep and they all chose the sofa bed so Cuatro tried to claim the other bed in the bedroom (he did end up sleeping in the crib).

We woke up to see that they were setting up for an early morning ocean marathon on the beach below.

So we walked to breakfast at Angie’s Grom which was really good. By the time we walked back, the event was over and had cleared out. Then we rented an umbrella and chairs to spend the day on the beach.

We left in the afternoon when the kids started to get tired to drive to our resort in Orlando. The younger three all napped for the car ride so they were all ready to check out the resort as soon as we got there.
